Where did the business name “Periwinkles Esthetics” come from?

While taking my esthetic training in London, England, in 1984, I was instructed to design a spa business as part of my course.  Missing the beaches of Nova Scotia, I gave my business a name reflective of home. I am thrilled to finally bring this name to life almost thirty years later!

Are you a licensed esthetician?

Yes.  I maintain annual membership in the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia as a Master Esthetician.

Do you like what you do?

With a resounding YES, I love what I do!  There has never been a moment when I wish I had pursued another career option.  I take great satisfaction from my work and from people’s enjoyment of the services I do for them.

What are your hours of operation, and can I drop by without an appointment?

As Periwinkles Esthetics is located in my home, my hours of operation are quite flexible and will vary according to my clients’ needs.  The only day that I will not be booking appointments is on Sundays.  Please call ahead or email me as services are performed by appointment only.

Why it is necessary to complete a health profile?

There are some services which are not performed if a client is taking certain medications or has certain health conditions.  It is important to me that I take every precaution to ensure that your services are safe and appropriate for you.

Are children welcome in the spa?

While you may bring a baby who is not yet walking, I would prefer not to have young children accompany guests as both myself and the guest will be occupied in the event that the child wanders off or requires attention.

Why don’t you accept debit or visa cards?

Accepting these methods of payment would require me to charge higher prices to help defray business overhead.  I felt it was more important to keep my prices as reasonable as possible.

Do you charge HST?

Yes, the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is charged on all services and retail products.

How do I go about purchasing a gift certificate if I do not have an appointment?

Please call ahead or email me and we will set up a time when you may drop by to pick up this very special gift of beauty and relaxation.

What if I am going to be late for my appointment?

Please call me as soon as you know you are going to be late.  Depending on the day, I may not be able to accommodate you if another client is booked directly after your appointment.

Do you do Brazilian waxing?

No.  I do swim or French cut bikini waxing.
